ABOUT SHOAHROSE

Shoah Rose was formed as an education/ministry to inform the public and Church about the most serious and critical issues of the role, meaning, actions and heart of the Church during the time of the Shoah, or Holocaust. More than any other institution which succumbed to the seductive philosophies and rhetoric of the Third Reich, the Church both stood as a final resistance against the Reich, and as the Great Compromiser, giving Hitler and the Reich rule and reign over Germany, ultimately resulting in the Genocide of the Jews of Europe. Some in the Church stood firmly against Hitler helping and hiding the Jews, and other vulnerable groups of people set for extermination, and standing in firm defense of the timeless Gospel of Jesus Christ. Others, and sadly most, compromised and even facilitated not only Endlosung or the "Final Solution" to exterminate the Jews, but also to re-write the Gospel so enormously that in the words of Martin Buber , they "made Anti-Semitism theologically acceptable". Shoah Rose explores the dynamics and processes of the ones who stood and the ones who did not, of the Gospel that survived and of the history and role of the Church in Anti-Semitism and the Holocaust. We will also explore applications for today as the Church faces Genocide and persecutions worldwide, as well as the Church's unending and commanded ministry to the Jewish Nation. Even as the voices of Shoah begin to dim, we acknowledge the Church, as the body of believers in Jesus Christ, as either a 'Rose' in Shoah, or the ones because of whom "Shoah Rose". We seek to learn from an intense history.
